Community-Based Mentorship
Consistent, one-to-one mentoring that grows through shared experiences in the community.
Built on Time Spent Together
Bigs and Littles meet 2–3 times each month for a few hours at a time, building a relationship through shared experiences. That might mean:
- Taking a walk in the park
- Visiting a local museum
- Attending a UofA game
- Joining a BBBS Southern Arizona event
- Trying something new together
Some matches meet on weekends. Others connect on weekday evenings. Every relationship develops a schedule that works for both people involved.
What matters most is consistency.
What it Takes to be a BIG
You don’t need special skills to be a Big. You simply need a willingness to show up.
Bigs can serve as individuals or as couples. Many couples choose to mentor together, sharing the experience and building a relationship as a team.
Basic Requirements:
- At least 18 years old
- High school graduate or GED
- Own a vehicle
- Current car insurance
Our team provides training, support, and ongoing guidance to help every match succeed.
Why It Matters
For many children, having one dependable adult can change the direction of their future.
What begins as volunteering often grows into a meaningful friendship built on trust, encouragement, and shared memories.
And many of these relationships last long beyond the formal program years.
Together, We Can Change a Story.
You don’t have to change the world. You can start with one relationship.
