A Community Awareness Campaign Encouraging Southern Arizona to go Green and Show that Mentoring Matters.
Event Overview:
What a BIG week! Thank you to everyone who helped us Paint the Town Green and spread the word about the power of mentoring. From posting your green photos and sharing our campaign to finding (and sharing!) green ducks around town, every little bit helped bring attention to Big Brothers Big Sisters and the impact a mentor can make.
And the impact reached far beyond our social feeds! During PTTG, our social media views increased by more than 200%, with Instagram reach up 407% and content interactions up 559%. Our website traffic also increased 88%, while clicks to start a volunteer information session increased 53% — helping more people take the first step toward becoming a Big. Thank you for showing up, sharing the message, and helping us ignite potential across Southern Arizona!

What? WHY? HOW?
WHAT: This is NOT a fundraiser. Paint the Town Green with us and spread the message and mission of Big Brothers Big Sisters. By using green during the week of September 14-20, 2026, you can help Southern Arizona know that mentoring matters.
WHY: To inspire more individuals to step up as mentors in the community and help make a lasting difference in the lives of young people.
HOW: It’s simple. Use green any way you’d like to bring awareness to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona and highlight our mission to empower children in our community. No fundraising required.
Benefits to YOU or Your organization.
Whether you’re participating as an individual or as a business/organization, you’ll help spread awareness for mentoring across Southern Arizona while gaining community visibility and showing your support for local youth. Participants will be highlighted on Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southern Arizona social media platforms and website, reaching a combined audience of more than 7,000 followers. Businesses and organizations may also be featured on the Paint the Town Green partnership map. Most importantly, you’ll be part of an annual community-wide movement that inspires others to get involved and demonstrates a shared commitment to making a BIG impact in the lives of local youth.
How can I paint the town green?
- Wear green and post a photo using #PaintTheTownGreen
- Share why mentoring matters to you on social media
- Visit a participating business and post a selfie with their green display
- Grab a green-themed drink or treat from a local café and share it online
- Tag friends and challenge them to join in within 24 hours
- Share a story or memory about a mentor in your life
- Create green-inspired art, food, or decorations and post your creation
- Change your porch light to green for the week and share a photo
How can my Business Paint The Town Green?
